Rudeness, Stupidity or Selfishness

I always thought that I had a high boiling point when it came to having people's behavior bother me, but lately I find that I can't take the rudeness, selfishness or sheer stupidity demonstrated by my fellow homo sapiens. The stupidity and/or selfishness factor is exponentially multiplied with the introduction of products like the cell phone and e-mail.

Don't get me wrong, I think that both cell phones and e-mail are wonderful and very useful inventions. It's not the product but how people choose to use them that bothers me.

Our forefathers handed down to us the Bill of Rights, ten amendments to the constitution.

It seems that during the last ten years people have tried to expand these rights. These people think they have the right to violate my space with their noise. They have finally been stopped from polluting my space with second hand smoke and it's time that they stop blasting their car stereos and stop polluting my space with second hand NOISE.

They have also tried to expand the Bill of Rights to include inflicting their cell phones on us. Stop taking phone calls in churches, restaurants, and movies. In fact, leave the room when you take or make your very important calls - no one cares or wants to hear about your VERY IMPORTANT business. I don't want to hear, "I'm on the train", or "I'm on the bus" - why don't you tell them when you're sitting on the crapper? That's always a nice visual for the person at the other end. You cared so much for the other person that you even involved them in your bowel movement - how touching!

You have no right to forward all your insignificant e-mails to the tens and hundreds on your e-mail lists. Stop forwarding every miracle story, rumor, or joke. Stop wishing me bad luck if I don't continue to forward this insanity within the next ten minutes. I'll deal with my God on my terms and not at the whim of some spammer. Please stop the Spam! I wonder how readily one would forward an e-mail if they had to affix postage or pay 39 cents for each. Maybe you should use this criteria before forwarding all the repetitive junk.

Do whatever you please, but don't invade my space claiming that you have your "rights." Yelling and screaming about your "rights" is not an excuse for rudeness, selfishness and stupidity. It tells me that you have failed to exercise COMMON SENSE.
