Ah, Monday – a Monday after a Patriots loss; a Monday that sees the Patriots at 1-2, the first losing
record since 2003; a Monday that sports talk show hosts welcome because they have to do very little show prep as it's a day when many fans want to call and vent their frustration after a Patriots loss.
These are not the Mondays that the Mamas and the Papas sang about many years ago - they are not good to Patriots fans.
This is the day when all the Monday morning quarterbacks call
the sports talk shows
These are the Mondays that ought to be called ‘shoulda/coulda’
Mondays.
“They should have run more,” offer some.
“They should have thrown more to Gronk,” offer others.
“They could have used the hurry-up offense more,”
offer other Josh McDaniel wanna bees. On and on it goes.
No matter what they should or could have done, it all rests
in the hands of the players and whether they execute the plays or not.
Sometimes you have to accept the stark reality that your team is not as good as
their opponent on that particular day.
Maybe you should have had that salad instead of that greasy
triple cheeseburger and onion rings. Or maybe you could have have climbed one flight os stairs instead of taking the elevator.
We all coulda/shoulda done something a little bit different yesterday.
