Mud Slinging Politics

Isn’t it interesting that the GOP, the party that aligns itself with the “better than thou,” morally right, the only holders of true Christian values’ voting bloc, is the same party that is spending 90 percent of its advertising budget on negative ads. The party that is supposed to set the standards has lowered the bar on what is acceptable for negative campaigning in election year 2006.

Finding themselves in danger of losing some seats in both houses, and finding that they can longer can go to the well of the scare tactic that has been their cry about how they are the party that will do the better job at combating terrorism, they are now resorting to slinging buckets of mud at their opponents. Since they can’t blame the sad state of affairs the country is in on Democrats, the GOP is throwing everything but the kitchen sink at their opponents. And when all else fail, they unleash their bulldog, Rush Limbaugh to go and bark after them. I think that some of these people are a by product of the Jerry Springer Show. These are our future Senators and Representatives?

I find that these people, are not part of the solution. They are the major problem of what ails this country. They spend a lot of money ripping each other to shreds and then once elected they are expected to work together. In many cases, it’s not happening and it’s impacting the country.

If you are a voter that votes strictly on party lines, take your blinders off and look at the total picture. It isn’t pretty from either side. If you have been dragged into the gutter, get yourself out and try to clean some of the mud off and see if anyone is talking about any concrete issues. Stop labeling people because there are good and bad on both sides.

Choose who you think is the best candidate. God bless you on your decision.
