As Time Goes By
“Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.”
Fifty fours years ago today, the film, Casablanca, had its world premiere at the Hollywood Theater in New York. It starred Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman who seemed to have been tailor made for the roles of Rick and Ilsa. Interestingly, producer Hal B. Wallis nearly hired Ronald Reagan and Ann Sheridan for the roles.
The classic film which won three Oscars (Picture, Director and Screenplay) never grows old. If you haven’t seen it for awhile go and rent it.
Once you’ve seen it, I’m sure you’ll say:
“Here’s looking at you kid.”
