World Cup Priorities
We have the hooligans from England and the “tifosi” from Italy but the following story takes the cake concerning man’s priorities when it comes to some people’s rabid interest in the World Cup.
From Bejing there’s a report that a man confronted with a fire in his house reacted by grabbing his TV and put it under his arm while his wife went to get their little baby. According to his wife the man paid no attention to the danger and once outside he set about finding an electrical outlet to plug into so he could continue watching his game.
The fire which started at 3 AM local time – kick-off time in Hanover – gutted the traditional courtyard dwelling.
The man was more concerned about saving his TV so that he could continue watching the World Cup than tending to the safety of his wife and baby.
What would Confucius say about this?
