Kudos to FSN North for being involved in Operation Home Base and Freedom Week. You have demonstrated what it truly means to support our troops.
When I tuned into the MLB TV broadcast of the Twins/Brewers’ game on July 1, I was pleasantly surprised and moved beyond words in seeing a commercial-free telecast. The live reports from the base in Iraq and the human-interest features, as well as enabling soldiers to communicate with their families was a class act on your part.
Too often we give lip service saying we support our troops while we enjoy the freedoms of going out to a ballpark to watch a baseball game. You have set the example and I hope others like my hometown Red Sox affiliate, NESN, follows the lead.
What say you NESN, and owners of the Boston Red Sox?
Instead of celebrating a team that didn’t win the 1986 World Series, spend some money in celebrating and honoring our troops and the families that are back home coping without their loved one(s).
Messer’s Henry, Lucchino, Werner et al see if you can reach the bar that’s been set by FSN North.
