Why Are they Afraid of the Word CHRISTMAS?

Let me start off by wishing a Merry Christmas to all, even the so called politically correct who opt to say Happy Holidays instead. What makes them afraid to say Merry Christmas? Maybe they have a hard time saying the word Christ. Maybe they forgot the reason we celebrate the Christmas Holiday. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born on Christmas.

Why does Christmas seem to offend some? Surveys show that 96 percent of the population celebrates Christmas in this country. I’ve never had anyone of another faith or belief get mad at me whenever I wished them a Merry Christmas. So why do we have so many major retail stores refuse to use the word Christmas in either their stores or catalogs? Aren’t they hypocritical? These are the same people who if it wasn’t for the Christmas season would end up in red ink.

Last year I finally had it with all the secularism from these stores and vowed not to shop at Macy’s because of their decision to use Happy Holidays instead of Christmas. This year I see they’ve changed their position

This year the Concerned Women of America (CWA), the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization, has come up with a list of companies who are not afraid of using the word Christmas and the ones who are.

Their Scrooge list has the following companies;

Target, Office Max, Kmart, Staples, Home Depot, Best Buy, Kohl’s, BJ's, SC Johnson, Verizon, Radio Shack, Zales, Outback, Lexus, Old Navy, Cingular, Reckitt Benckiser, Pier 1, Red Lobster, Office Depot, Gillette, Applebee’s, Burlington Coat, Dell, Milton-Bradley, U.S. Postal Service, Costco

These companies have given a slap to the face to all of their Christian customers.
